Holly (Norman Lovett), the ship computer of Red Dwarf, seem to be less
& less effective, more& more forgetful, & at times he even
sems to endanger the crew ... so the back up program, Queeg (Charles
Augins), takes over. But while Holly was an easygoing chap, who didn't
mind if the crew wasn't actually doing anything, Queeg follows space corps
regulations to the letter, putting the whole crew - Lister (Craig
Charles), Rimmer (Chris Barrie) & Cat (Danny John-Jules) - to work or
through training sessions ... which is especially excruciating on Rimmer,
who loves space corps regulations, but only when not applied to him.
Ultimately though, Holly wants his job back, & challenges Queeg to
a game of chess, winner gets Red dwarf, loser is erased ... & Holly
loses.
Only when Holly sees everybody mourning his demise, does he tell them
he has just fooled them & was Queeg all along, just to show them what
they have got in him ...
An average episode that never gets too dumb on one hand, on the other
hand it doesn't have any real good scenes or great laughs either & the
ending is rather disappointing.
