Death Park

At the beginning of this movie, the notorious masked killer of Death Park
(Ken Brewer) is finally dead - just apparently not dead enough, as when
his sledgehammer-wielding accomplice (Robert Allen Mukes) breaks into the
morgue to put his trademark mask on his face, he gets up like from a light
sleep and kills everybody in his way to make it back to Death Park to do
some more killing. Before long, a $50,00o bounty is put on his head, which
attracts bounty hunters from all over the country to hunt the killer (or
rather killers) down. However, none of the bounty hunters are too bright
and/or all are to greedy to systematically hunt the killer down, instead
they swarm out in groups of twos and threes, all with their own plans on
how to lure out the killers. Thing is, the killer doesn't need much
luring, he just appears like a force of nature cutting down his opponents
relentlessly. And since he has been dead already, it's hard to make
him, erm, deader ... Now Return to Death Park isn't
the most accomplished movie, it was obviously made on a modest budget, so
the film is a little underwhelming on the purely technical side of things.
However, this is a film where the love of the filmmakers for the genre
clearly shines through, as it's at times violent as can be, but also their
humour when treating genre tropes that often make little sense in
themselves. Also, the film is populated by a welcomely colourful cast of
characters, and the cast clearly has fun portraying them, so prepare
yourself for a maybe not perfect but nevertheless wildly entertaining
genre ride.
