Writer Nicole (Kathy Novak) and her assistant Jane (Yvette Yzon) travel
to the Philippines to do some research for Nicole's book about female
sexuality, to get the "Asian perspective" on the topic. To that
end, they visit Nicole's mentor (and ex) doctor Woo, who lets them listen
in on some of his patients's sessions where they tell him their sexual
fantasies (or realities, really) that involve threesomes, prostitution,
whipping and the like. When Nicole and Jane are on their own, they recount
past entries in Nicole's book, have sex, sometimes with one another or a
man between them, masturbate and the like. In the finale, they attend a
masque and take off/have sex with a masked man - who turns out to be
doctor Woo ... Now on the plus side, there are many beautiful
women in this movie, almost all of whom get into sexual situations (all
this side of hardcore), and the film sure is well-crafted. On the downside
of course, the film's excuse for a script lacks any proper structure,
flows along very randomly (even for softcore erotica), and at least some
of the vignettes seem to be lifted from other movies - something I can't
(and don't care to) prove, but suffice to say the sex scenes vary in style
rather greatly, and since many performers aren't in the film otherwise,
short cuts might have been taken. So basically, if narratively
accomplished movies are your thing, better stay away, but if pretty girls
getting naked is all you need, there are certainly worse movies than this
one out there.
