Agents Mulder (Anthony Rosano) and Scully (Kimberly Kane) investigate a murder spree that is somehow linked to a Satanic cult. Their first suspect is a certain Andrew Barsons (Ralph Long), leader of a Satanic sect, who seems to be somehow involved, but not even Mulder can find something to pin onto him, definitely. However, from him, they get a clue to mythic demon Lilith (Ashlynn Brooke), Adam's first wife turned succubus according to some legends ... who seems to be pretty much alive in the here and now though.

Scully is of course unwilling to believe any of the Lilith-stuff, insisting the killer is just your usual serial killer - until she finds Mulder's name carved onto the heart of one of the two latest victims (Evan Stone, Aurdey Bitoni) of the demon (who is very real of course). While Scully finds that out though, Mulder pays another visit to Barsons, who is quick to drug him and tie him up in his basement. Scully comes to his rescue though, and at gunpoint, Barsons confesses to have summoned Lilith in an orgy.

Scully and Mulder force Barsons to take them to Lilith's hideout in the desert, where they manage to track down Lilith - and sacrifice Barsons to her by tearing off his pendant that has so far kept him safe from her attacks. Sure, that kills Barsons, but it also ends her killing spree.

With the case brought to a close, Mulder is finally able to relieve himself from the burden that has bugged him all through the story: He confesses his love to Scully - upon which, wouldn't you know it, they fuck ...

Porn favourite Aurora Snow plays Scully and Mulder's boss Skinner's (Rod Fontana) secretary, who's also the only one who has anal sex (with Skinner) in the whole movie.

A film that's well filmed, that captures the atmosphere of the original, that contains just the right amount of gruesomeness to capture the attention of the casual viewer without freaking him or her out, The Sex Files: A Dark XXX-Parody shares the problems with many other porn parodies: It just fails to insert the hardcore fucking in the right way to keep the film interesting - basically it's just your typical X Files-story with some sex-scenes tagged on rather than making them an integral part of the story. That's a particular pity with this film though because it actually features a plot based on sex - but when it comes to the fucking, the film runs out of ideas and treats these scenes business as usual. And while Ashlynn Brooke really looks her part and looks particularly hot despite her obvious implants, she is never allowed to come into her own as Lilith, her one scene is just your average threeway.

Now I'm not saying this film is a particularly bad porn-"parody" (though I'm not too sure about the parody part, as this film is pretty much devoid of humour), it just lacks in depth in both story and characters to make it a particularly good one. And that it's no worse than most other porn-parodies either is not exactly an excuse, right?
