Dr. Gross (Jeff Serdy) has set out to create a cure for all snake venoms -
but instead he has carried a rattle snake carrying super venom. What's
worse though, the rattler is quick to kill him then escape his lab - and
now it's set loose on a rural Arizona small town, and it soon kills
everyone in sight, even the exterminator (Jim Perry) specifically hired to
kill it. But fortunately, the town has its own he-man, Brett (Beau
Yottty), who feels more than ready to take care of the situation himself -
unfortunately, his soluttion to the problem is using his girlfriend
(Lindsay Beach) as bait while he hides behind the curtain with a baseball
bat ... So ok, this film has a few problems in its internal logic,
first of all how a rattle snake is able to sneak up on people
when its main characteristic is that it rattles to announce its approach -
which is even clearly shown on film. But that aside, this is a pretty
entertaining piece of animal horror. Now sure, it doesn't break any new
ground, but it delivers pretty much in spades exactly what you'd expect
from a movie like this - so in all, a pretty fun genre ride.
