Simen (voiced by Aksel Hennie) is in love with Cumilla (Mathilde
Thomine Storm), and she loves him back, but they have different ideas
where their lives are to lead to. You see, Simen wants to stay in his
hometown indefinitely while she wants out the first opportunity she gets,
saying it's her as well as everybody else's determination. And she's right
of course, because you see, Simen and Cumilla are sperm, living in a
ballsack, and the destination of every sperm is to be launched into the
big unknown eventually and find an ovule to enter. But, Simen argues, what
if they're wasted during masturbation or land in a condom? However, it
seems they're lucky, as the owner of their ballsack, teenaged Jens
(Christian Fredrik Mikkelsen) is experiencing first love with Lisa (Nasrin
Khusrawi), and as fate has it, she loves him back, and the addition of a
little (a lot) alcohol has them landing in bed together and doing it
for the first time. However, not all sperm are equal, and ambitious but
evil Jizzmo (Christian Rubeck) has built himself an armoured suit to beat
all the competition to the punch and cut off their way out. So seems he's
winning - but waits, the kids are doing it again, and this time Simen and
Cumilla are shot out - but unfortunately, due to his inexperience, Jens
has shagged Lisa anally the second time around. But now they're in the
female body, Simen and Cumilla aren't to give up that easily, and a
friendly e-coli just might help them find their way to the ovary ...
Now ok, to properly enjoy Spermageddon, it helps to be
into somehow rude humour, to be able to handle dirty words, constant
sexual references, and find dancing sperm funny. Because basically this is
what the movie's made of - but if you're ok with all of the above, you'll
find plenty to like about this movie that's basically an adult (though not
explicit) parody of kiddie animation, replete with cute characters, easy
to spot villains, and song-and-dance numbers every now and again. And the
result is actually enjoyably wild but also spot-on, and a pretty good
laugh for sure.
