After Spider-Man (Shinji Toudou) spoils yet another of their evil
plans, the Iron Cross Army is more determined than ever to find out who
Spider-Man actually is. Their newest Machine Bem (~ robot monster) Big Bat
suggests bke racer Takuya Yamashiro, but the leader of the Iron Cross Army
Professor Monster (Mitsuo Ando) is not so sure and demands proof ... Of
course, Takuya really is Spider-Man, but he's to clever to fall into the
traps the Iron Cross Army has set up for him to reveal himself, which
mainly consist of attacks on his family. So during the attacks, Takuya -
able to smell Iron Cross Army members - plays the perfect coward, and
leaves it to Big Bat - in human - form to save his kin (after all, with
Takuya's family killed prematurely, how could they lure him out into the
open?). Eventually though, the attacks get too fierce, so during the
fiercest of all, Takuya vanishes in battle, then returns as Spider-Man to
defeat the Iron Cross Army once again and destroys Big Bat - who grows to
giant size in the finale - using his giant robot Marveller/Leopardon. Only
then does Takuya allow the others to save himself (as himself), barely
alive as it seems. Mediocre episode that's just a bit too
predictable to keep up tension and suspense throughout. Only Big Bat in
his monster form looks pretty funny.
