To pay for his brother Bobby's (Roman Polito) cancer treatment, tough guy
Vince (Tony Garcia) has offered his services to drug kingpin Jay (Ronald
Joseph), only to realize that in this budiness there are more tough guys
than he can shake his stick at and things are going quite a bit over his
head. What's more, he falls in love with the town's super pimp Desmond
(Douglas Pioneer Lacey) and wants to skip town with her, much to the
dismay of Desmond. Now add to this Vince being robbed of quite a bit of
Jay's drug money, a crooked cop (Richard Baines) blackmailing him to go
undercover for his move on Jay, and Gem being kidnapped. And then there's
also a mad scientist (C. Todd Vittum), and you're left with perfect
disaster ... Now on the script-sice Stinger might
not be a perfect movie, it relies too much on genre mainstays, lacks
stringency in storytelling and abandons plot threads ust too readily - but
that said, this is still a perfectly fun watch, thanks to its flashy
imagery, fast pace, action aplenty and much macho posturing. Now this is
by no means high brow entertainment mind you, but good entertainment it is
nevertheless.
