The son of famous Chief Crazy Horse (George Keymas) is dieing, but he
refuses to take the boy to the white doctor as this would be treason to
the Indian cause. And when his wife (Alma Beltran) brings the boy to the
white doctor behind his back, he simply shoots the Doctor dead ...
When his son dies soon afterwards, Crazy Horse blames everything on the
white man and plans to attack a train and massacre its passengers,
including the General. Wanting to prevent the massacre, Crazy
Horse's wife turns to Matt Clark (Jim Davis), railroad detective, and
confesses everything, but only on the condition that he will not kill
Crazy Horse. Clark soon enough comes up with the idea to talk to the
Indian chiefs who live in peace with the white man and persuade them to
help him fighting Crazy Horse and thus keep the peace between the Indians
and the white man.
Clark's plan turns out to be a full success, Crazy Horse and his men
are overcome by Clark's Indians and he himself captures Crazy Horse and
can convince him to give himself up but in return be treated with dignity,
like a general turned prisoner of war. However, when the army simply wants
to throw him into a prison cell, Crazy Horse, feeling betrayed makes an
escape attempt so foolish that he obviously must ahve wanted to die right
then and there ... which he does, too.
Routine TV-Western, not too bad but with not too much going for it,
except maybe the Indians attacking the train and being themselves attacked
by more Indians. The whole scene is not quite on the scale it could have
ben/should have been, but it's still nicely done.
