Saki (Yoko Minamino), yo-yo wielding Sukeban Deka, has been tasked with
secretly observing Professor Shimomura (Takaya Hashi), whom evil
organisation Seiroukai has shown quite an interest in. Sounds like a
straight-forward job, but it's exactly now that a trio of young girls led
by Mami (Mie Kataoka), sukebans from another school, have chosen to
challene Saki to a fight. Now Saki doesn't want to fight them, has no
reason to fight them, and can easily defeat them even without her yo-yo,
however the girls, and especially Mami, are persistent. So much do that
they compromise Saki's mission and the professor is kidnapped right under
her nose, without Saki having the first clue where he might have been
taken. But fortunately and rather by coincidence, one of Mami's girls has
hidden in the trunk of the car Seiroukai used to kidnap the professor, and
agrees to lead Saki to where he was taken - if Saki finally accepts the
challenge. Seeing no other way to save the professor, Saki agrees to this,
and she and sidekick Okyo (Haruko Sagara) have no problems defeating the
Seiroukai minions and freeing the professor, and then Saki teaches Mami
and company a lesson ...
A fun episode inasmuch as it combines its serious thriller
plot with the rather campy little fighting girls who have rather original,
hilarious weapons of their own. The scenes with Saki and Okyo teaming up
to free the professor are pretty well-executed though. Maybe nothing too
out of the ordinary, but if you're into the series, it's sure good
entertainment.
