Young Willie was super-excited for his brother Charlie to be born - but now that he's here, it doesn't take Willie long to notice that not everything's rosey: For one, his parents suddenly neglect him for his baby brother, except for when he would like a little time on his own, then he's suddenly tasked with taking care of Charlie. This hurts especially since he figured himself part of a crime fighting duo together with his cop dad, who sometimes discussed his cases with his son before Charlie was here. These days though, dad doesn*t even seem to see Willie anymore, and when Willie wants to tell him he's solved a streak of robberies of electronic goods, the boy falls on death ears. So Willie goes investigating on his own - together with little Charlie, whom he needs to babysit at the least opportune time. And of course, having a baby in tow that might start crying or giggling at random doesn't really help his cause, especially since Willie's in over his head as it is. But when he and Charlie are found out, the most wonderful thing happens: Charlie beats up the bad guys like nobody's business, sabing Willie's hide, and Charlie actually can talk. Because you know, when Charlie was born, a meteor passed by the clinic that gave him superpowers - superpowers Charlie doesn't know how to properly control, but he sure enough knows he has to protect his big brother. So theoretically all is fine and dandy, right? Except, there's a supervillain in town, Anton, who's brother nferio got superpowers from above meteor 50 years ago, and snce then he's looking for someone to suck superpowers from - and Charlie has just become his first choice ...

Superhero movies were of course a dime a dozen in the mid-2020s, so much so that the formula has started to wear off. Super Charlie though dared to take a different approach, putting its themes of coming-of-age and sibling rivalry to the forefront, giving its action a slapstick tingerelying on strong characters much more than empty heroics, and showing a great amount of heart. Plus, the film is also really funny and doesn't talk down to its projected (younger) audience. So basically, this is a film for the whole family that*s actually really for the whole family.

Super Charlie will be coming to UK cinemas from August 15th, 2025.
