Levon (David Chattam) has been out hunting with his trusted dog Jasper
(Ranger) for days now, but of late he has shot nothing bigger than a
squirrel, and thus his meals have turned somehow spartan of late ...
and suddenly he hears someone or something approaching his cabin, and the
way it shrouds itself in secrecy its motives might as well be malevolent -
but then again apart from that little bit of grub over the campfire (and
that's not much), Levon has nothing worth taking ... and yet,
whatever-it-is demands to know "who has my Tailypo?" And while a
scared shitless Levon knows it's not him who's got it, that doesn't save
him from disaster ... Based on an age-old folk tale, Tailypo
is little more than a skeletal exercise in genre filmmaking - and that's
exactly why this film works: In it's less than 15 minutes of running time,
writer/director McCasland doesn't waste time with an elaborate backstory,
subplots or any of that jazz, but relies on atmosphere and suspense, with
the shocks well-set and a very basic but effective creature courtesy of
Dustin Mills. A fun little picture, really! And if this has
gotten you at all interested, why don't you just watch the movie for free
