Cop Jae-hwan (Oh Dae-hwan) is hot on the trail of serial killer
Jin-hyeok (Jang Dong-yoon) - but when he's right about to capture him,
they both fall of a cliff and disappear from the face of the earth. One
month later, they miraculously re-appear, only now Jae-hwan seems
strangely detached while Jin-hyeok appears nothing like the monster who
has raped, mutilated and killed 11 girls and even put his deeds online for
profit. In fact, he claims to be Jae-hwan, but nobody believes him -
except for Jae-hwan's partner Min-sung (Jang Jae-ho), who soon enough
recognizes that Jing-hyeok knows too much about things to be a fake and
actually helps him escape custody. Jae-hwan in the meantime is perfectly
aware of the "mind-swap" and forces Jin-hyeok to give up his
partners in crime to the police - but then Jin-hyeok, triggered by some
memories of old, finds out how he actually got to where he is, and the
consequence is, well, not nice ...
So ok, the whole mindswap premise demands quite a bit
suspension of disbelief and might be too hard to swallow for some - but
once the motif behind it is revealed about halfrway through the film,
already a decent thriller so far, really gains momentum ... and darkness.
So basically, this is certainly not a film for the faintly tempered, as
things do get violent, both visually ane mentally, but if you're into this
kind of thing and can enjoy a well-paced and pretty crazy horror thriller,
then this is genre entertainment right up your alley. ...
and if this has gotten you at all interested, this movie's currently
streaming on https://www.screambox.com/.
