On their journey to the West, Monkey (Masaaki Sakai) & his master,
the monk Tripitaka (Masako Natsume)= run across a woman who is married to
a monster ... & the Monkey decides to help her, by magically becoming
her & teaching the monster a lesson. Humiliated, the monster, who
turns out to be Pigsy (Toshiyuki Nishida), asks if he may travel withthe
monk, which Tripitaka only agrees to if Pigsy, the womanizer, stays away
from women. Of course, Pigsy runs into girl trouble soon again ...
Later, Pigsy tries to persuade Monkey to abandon Tripitaka, but
Monkey's magic headband prevents him from being disloyal to the monk,
& all their efforts to get rid of it add up to naught.
When our trio of heroes want to cross the sea, they meet Sandy (Toshiyuki
Nishida), who first seems to be a mean-spirited demon, but soon it turns
out he has only waited for them to join them on their journey.
Later the group is attacked by Tiger Spirits, who give Monkey, Pigsy
& Sandy a fierce fight while kidnapping Tripitaka.
However, even that situation can be resolved ...
Even if some quite seminal things for the series happen in this
episode, like Pigsy & Sandy joining up with the team, the episode
seems terribly episodic, non-stringent 6 absolutely pointless. &
what's more, the over-the-top fantasy scenes paired with cheap, cheesy
& wonderful effects that garnered the first 2 episodes seem totally
amiss here.
