Your new movie Insane Like Me? - in a few words, what's it about, and what can you tell us about your character in it?

Insane Like Me? is about a veteran accused of murder and once he is set free, he is on a mission to uncover the truth about his missing girlfriend. I play Samantha, the missing girlfriend. She is sweet, slightly shy, and very loyal.

What did you draw upon to bring your character to life, and how much Grace Patterson can we find in Samantha?

I used a lot of Grace for Samantha. Samantha has a nurturing warmth to her that I used for the role. I wanted people to really care about Samantha and see why Jake would go to the extremes to find her.

How did you get involved with the project in the first place?

I auditioned a few days before. They had a cast member drop out last minute and needed to cast the role quickly. I put myself on tape and got the job!

To what extent could you identify with Insane Like Me?'s approach to the vampire genre?

This is my first vampire movie so it was a first for me! It was super fun and I love how they incorporated the vampires into the plot and how it turned out.

Do talk about the shoot as such, and the on-set atmosphere!

The on-set atmosphere was great!! It was very professional and fun! We shot the film in eleven days so it was a quick shoot but we kept the pacing quick. Everyone became like family.

Any future projects you'd like to share?

Yes! I have a few Lifetime films coming out. DNA Secrets, an action film (untitled), A Friend’s Obsession, and a military film we are producing at the end of the year.

What got you into acting in the first place, and did you receive any formal training on the subject?

I started when I was nine. I grew up on a farm and had nothing to do - so I asked for a camera and started making movies! I then started acting classes around the same time and have consistently trained throughout my childhood, teen years, and even today!

What can you tell us about your filmwork prior to Insane Like Me??

I have done over 20 Lifetime movies, lots of independent horror films. I was in Slotherhouse which was in theaters and #7 on Hulu. I’ve been consistently working since I was twelve.

How would you describe yourself as an actress, and some of your techniques to bring your characters to life?

I like to keep my characters truthful and grounded. I never judge my characters. I like to find the core reasons why they do what they do and play that honestly.

Actresses (and indeed actors) who inspire you?

Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lawrence.

Your favourite movies?

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
