Senior student Emily (Lisa Ambalavanar) wants to be elected her
sorority's president - but her chances are slim, given her rival is
insta-perfect Brianna (Sydney Craven), who knows how to manipulate people,
and despite being a despicable person she has a vast network of loyals.
Initially unrelated to this, Emily gets herself a sloth as a pet, and
despite the sorority not permitting pets, she's allowed to keep it as the
sorority's mascot. Thing is, the sloth is fiercely loyal to Emily, and
behind her back starts killing those who oppose her ... Now Slotherhouse
is hardly a cinematic milestone or the re-invention of the slasher genre
by any stretch of the imagination - but it's a fun film all the same, one
to turn one's brain off to and still not be intellectually insulted.
Basically it's a film where you get what you expect when reading the tile
- but it's also a very entertaining film that doesn't take itself at all
seriously, and that delivers in both irony and violence, making this one a
rather fun genre ride.
