Jacques Pierre (Phil Trasolini) is a very gifted composer, but every
time he has composed something in the past, the grim reaper came by to
take one of his loved ones - so nowadays he earns a living conducting a
(rather horrible) rock version of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, called Horror
Seasons ... and each season has its own story:
- The Darkest Secret: Gareth (Greg Russell Tiderington) is a
man on the run from his own past - and he's happy to find a new abode
in Alice's (Fleur Jacobs) boarding house - noticing all too late that
he has long killed himself and the boarding house is his own private
hell ...
- Satan Claws: Two kids (Mic Jahn, Mike Todorovic) in church do
... well, pretty much what you'd expect them to do, act stupid, and
steal from the collection plate. Too bad then that a demon has chosen
exactly this night to slice up all sinners. Well, a demon ... or the
priest (Andrew Mondia)?
- Easter Beast: A woman (Sandra Medeiros) has made it a habit
to get rid of her husbands once she has grown bored of them - which
happens about once a year. She has chosen the Easter Beast - a demon
with a bunny theme - to do her dirty work. Too bad then that demons
have the nasty habit to eventually turn on their masters/mistresses
...
- Thirst for Blood: Maggie (Krystal Vrba) has to find out that
sometimes it really does not pay to help those in need - especially
when the person in need is actually a vampire (Krista Kelloway) ...
Not having found solace in conducting the Horror Seasons,
Jacques Pierre finally goes back to composing - after all, he has lost all
of his loved ones, how much worse can it get? However, once he's done
writing his magnum opus, the reaper comes for him ...

The Horror Seasons is by no means a perfect film, its stories
are a bit on the predictable side, and the film's low budget shines
through a few times too often. And yet, the movie is good fun: Its stories
are uniformly short enough to not outstay their welcome, they have a
certain amount of irony to them to make them work, and at times they even
show originality (as in the silent black and white Easter Beast) or
attempts at atmospheric filmmaking (especially Thirst for Blood).
It might not be a masterpiece in any sense of the word, but it's 80
minutes of indie horror entertainment, and some days, that's really all
you need!
