A mother (Meghan Adara) is almost too enthusiastic when she talks to
her son (Shaun Jemmett) - and only after the call do we learn there's
actually much more and a much sadder story behind what were really nothing
more than an exchange of trivialities over the phone ... Apart
is a very emotional and touching film, essentially because it underplays
things: Apart from the opening phonecall, the film's dialogue-free and
talks through visual hints, gestures and facial expressions, this way
telling a story that's pretty clear at its core but everything beyond that
is left to interpretation, but it's beautifully held together by a
masterful directorial effort and of course a powerful performance by
Meghan Adara, who's in almost every frame of the film. Definitely worth a
look. ... and if this has gotten you at all excited, you might
