Convicted but escaped serial killer Fred Banning (Mark Kiazyk) is
roaming the streets, and everybody's scared ... well, not exactly
everybody, best friends Bethenny (Erin Hyndman), Brandi (Jynx
Vandersteen), Lisa (Amanda Nichols) and LuAnn (Sarah Foster) have won a
weekend at a spa, which, really sounds like party party party, and since
they're all in the same college sorority, nothing's more important than
partying. Plus, two of the girls' boyfriends (Ken Wright, Danny Warren)
also manage to slip into the place, so ... well, of course, the mad
murderer also manages to slip in and slaughter most of the gang, before
the others even find out what's happening ... Well, I'll be
honest, Hot Tub Party Massacre will not win any awards for
originality - but it hasn't set out to, instead it's a nice throwback to
slasher movies as they were done in the 1980s, before there was
post-modern irony or any of that shit. Instead we get some fun characters,
violence in all the right places but also plenty of tits and ass, and a
comicbook-like approach to things. It might not stay with you for awfully
long, but it's great fun while it lasts, and should be a great addition to
every party that involves quite a bit of beer.
