Basically, this is a talking head documentary about the dangers of
what's called Transhumanism, which to grossly simplify things means to
cross human and animal genes to create more resilient, better adaptable
human beings on one hand, but also half-human organ banks on the other.
The whole thing starts out very interesting, too, and always gets back to
very interesting points, like warning about Transhumanism because off
possible long-time effects (including a perverted form of mad cow disease
even) and of genetical engineering as such. However, there are
several flaws in the film, too, especially when it time and again comes
back to the religious point of view and postulates the human
"soul" as a given (though by and large, this is not a religious
manifest of any sort, and is rooted more in science than belief), which
kind of takes the wind out of some of the arguments. Furthermore, the
film time and again slips off into science fiction territory (like when
talking about super soldiers, wolf men and the like) and presents
extremely feeble circumstantial evidence as actual proof, which kind of
unermines the seriousness of the whole thing. All that said,
conspiracy theorists and people who just tend to like conspiracy theories
will get a kick out of this one, and it might also be inspiring to
sci-fi-fans who just feel like researching some source material ...
