Air Force General Peterson (Barton MacLane) wants to beat hhis
equivalent at the Navy at golf in their yearly tournament - but for that
he needs a brilliant golf partner ... and he of course chooses Major Tony
Nelson (Larry Hagman), who hasn't got the first idea of playing golf, but
the General has seen him hit a few balls that were record-breaking thanks
to his genie Jeannie's (Barbara Eden). Now of course, Tony could triumph
easily be letting Jeannie take over, but he's such a sportsman to lock
Jeannie up in her bottle prior to the game ... and then he fails
miserably, something that could even affect his career at NASA - but
fortunately, Tony's best friend Roger (Bill Daily) has the good sense to
let Jeannie out of her bottle just in time, so that she can make Tony turn
the game around just in time ... Pretty much a very predictable
episode, but at the same time with pretty good sightgags, and while
Barbara Eden doesn't have to do too much in this one, Larry Hagman seizes
his opportunity to shine. Not one of the best episodes, but pretty much
impossible not to like.
