A bunch of highschool friends meet at some hotel near a lake years
after graduation, and they all seem to be linked by an event that happened
many years ago: While playing baseball, they saw one of them, Samuel
(Corey Simon) - the fat kid no one really liked - run over by a truck ...
something that unfortunately comes up time and again during their
conversations. Eventually, strange things start to happen though, one of
them (Katrina Novak) goes swimming and never comes back, the guy
(Nathaniel Nose) looking for her disappears as well, but is seen by the
others in various places - and he couldn't have been in all of them at
once. Yet another guy (Tommy Strasz) is found hanging from the ceiling, to
be gone again in the blink of an eye. And then there seem to be children
everywhere, that appear out of nowhere only to disappear again. Finally
the rest of the bunch tries to figure out what's going on - and somehow
comes to the conclusion that the hotel is a home of wayward souls of
children killed before their time, who apparently want to take their
revenge on grownups ... and little Samuel is among those children. Soon,
our heroes are picked out one by one and killed by the children, all but
the wholesome couple (Rick Kunzi, Juhanna Lixey), who are
teleported away, mainly because the female part of the couple is with
child ... but in the end, they are run over by a truck all the same. Bill
Vincent plays a mad caretaker, Sandy Gartelman the woman who warns the
kids but is perceived bonkers - you know the kind. Mediocre
ghost story: On one hand, the film does feature its fair share of scary
moments and atmospheric scenes - but on the other hand, much of the plot
strictly follows soap opera patterns - to a point where one doesn't even
care all that much about the characters anymore. Which isn't to say the
film is all bad - it's just not too good either.
