After years of absence, Matt (Will Smart) returns to the farm of his
uncle in the middle of the woods to help out, to find out his uncle's not
here leaving all the responsibility to him. But Matt soon gets the feeling
he's not alone at the farm - and when he looks for whoever it is in the
attic, he is attacked by some creature (Sarah Hubner) ... only to wake up
in the henhouse the next morning. He sees a young girl walking through the
woods, away from the farmhouse and picks up an ax to go after her - but
when he manages to catch up, he finds her lying on the ground with lethal
wounds, and when he wants to investigate further, he's ambushed by the
creature again - but that's not the end of it ... The build-up
of this movie might not be the re-invention of the wheel, but it's really
well put together, using a slowburn approach to creating an atmosphere of
utter creepiness, of course helped by moody camerawork, perfectly
capturing the slightly eerie feel of the location. However, it's the final
resolution of things that's the real shocker. Well worth a look for
sure.
