At a bible camp: When the priest (Simon Mills) reads a key paragraph of
the bible, little Jessica (Kra Savage) dares to contradict in a very low
voice, then she blasphemes and runs away - which doesn't sound too
outrageous for a little girl, probably not even ten, who enjoys bible camp
much less than her parents want her to. Yet her parents (Greg Russell
Tiderington, Mirina Seretis) immediately come to the conclusion she must
be possessed and chase after her by car ... A very well
directed and tense short (5 minutes) horror thriller - that despite of all
its undeniable qualities I can't bring myself to like, quite simply
because it takes demonic possession as a given, as the only factor to
explain the girl's not all that abnormal behaviour, and fails to build a
story around it - other than the well-made chase. And the fact that the
film claims it's inspired by true events doesn't really help - not that
I'm denying there are unruly kids in bible camps, but how to link that to
demonic possession is simply beyond me ...
