Murat is nothing but an insignificant pizza boy, but when he delivers a
pizza to sexy Emel (Meltem Cumbul), and she opens the door very scantily
dressed and invites him in, he thinks he's in heaven ... instead she
threatens him with a gun, ties him to a chair. When she later goes out,
Murat makes an escape attempt - which culminates in him finding out though
that there is a dead man lieing in the next room - not really a good omen. Emel
returns and ties him to his chair again, then her boyfriend Celal shows up
- and now Emel claims that Murat killed the man in the next room, Kenan,
who together with her and Celal wanted to rob their boss Apo blind. Bits
of the story are revealed by and by, such as that Emel, Celal and Kenan
did actually steal from Apo, and Kenan actually had the chance to kill
him, too - but blew it. Later though, Emel found it a good idea to kill
Kenan ... and then ordered pizza, to have a fall guy - Murat - on hand for
Celal, who loved Kenan like a brother. Now though, Emel thinks it a good
idea to kill Celal as well, then she calls Apo, to invite him over, but
leaves in time so all Apo and company find is the pizza boy - and a bomb
trap ... One of the many pulp movie deconstructions/comedies
made in the wake of the success of Pulp Fiction that put an
emphasis on being cool rather than being clever. That's not to say Karisik
Pizza is a bad movie, it's actually rather amusing, and well enough
paced to keep one entertained throughout - but at the end of the day, it
just lacks in the plot department: The story is too tried and true to
really invoke much interest, and it's unnecessarily overconvoluted to
distract from the fact that it's nothing new. Well, good for a few
laughs at least, but nothing really memorable.
