In some caves, a group of geologists find a small casket, which they
accidently break - which in turn unleashes the wrath of some lizard demon
who starts to pick out the geologists one by one and either kill them or
turn them into zombies ... At a later date, writer Kwan (Rungrawee
Barijindakul) pays a visit to the region to promote a book of hers - and
she is given the casket by some stranger, and though she even tries to get
rid of it by accidently forgetting it, the casket seems to stay
with her when she returns to the city. In the city, Kwan soon starts to
see lizards everywhere (even though they're not there half of the time),
and before long she develops a curious medical condition too, and her
surgeon boyfriend Wintoon (Pete Thongchua) desperately tries to find a
cure for her. Her aunt however knows what's really wrong with her, she is
possessed by the lizard demon, and she hooks up with ghost catcher Kaleum
to exorcise her ... but she's killed before she can do much. Kaleum, along
with reporter Ko (Chatthapong Pantanaunkul), tries to gain access to Kwan
to treat her, but Doc Wintoon will hear nothing of this superstitious
babble - and then Kwan even breaks out of the hospital. Kaleum soon
manages to capture Kwan, and tries to exorcise her witht he help of a
mighty shaman, while Ko hooks up with Doc Wintoon to ... no, actually, I
have no idea what the two of them were planning to achieve. Anyways, in
the end, Kwan, by now more lizard then human, kills virtually everybody,
and in quite gory ways at that, even the investigating inspector, when ...
when it turns out it was all just a fantasy, one of Kwan's books which she
now presents to the public. But Doc Wintoon, who's her boyfriend in real
life as well, has, it seems, actually been taken over by some lizard demon
... Very weak horror film that pretty much lacks a coherent
plot - instead we are presented with an inconsequential sequence of horror
clichés lifted from films like The
Exorcist and Evil Dead
-, an identifiable lead character - the film throws way too many likeable
characters at the audience only to then kill them off -, or even an ounce
of atmosphere - most of the horror scenes are accompanied by
counterproductive music, and effects like slow motion is used at the least
appropriate moments, just as if the director was just testing the
technology. Add to this main monsters - lizards - that are less than
frightening and are totally let down by lazy effects, and you are left
with very little. Not worth your time and money.
