Ava (Giovanna Hubbard) lets Jake (Justin Sterk) accompany her home from
a party - but then Jake tries to take advantage of her and she hits him
over the head with a rock, effectively killing him. Getting into a little
bit of a panic over it, she calls her best friends Lisa (Pamela Basurto),
and Caroline (Emily Cortez), who willingly help her get rid of the body -
also because they believe her it was self defense, and doubt the police
would believe it as well without hard evidence. When the three girls get
away with it, they figure maybe it's a good way to get rid of a few more
misogynistic jerks who think they have the right to take advantage of
every girl they want ...
Now I really like the plot of this movie, it's very wittily
written and it carries the right message in a darkly humourous way and
never tries to hammer anything home. Unfortunately, on all technical
levels this shows the work of a filmmaker still early in her career, as
it's just not as well put together as it could be - but it also shows a
filmmaker of great promise, as despite all of its shortcomings, this film
is pretty entertaining.
