Jerry North (Richard Denning) wants to publish an article on
up-and-coming boxing sensation Vince McKay (Hal Baylor), but when he meets
him, he finds out that he's an amazingly arrogant man, who has no problem
to bed woman after woman though. And then, McKay turns up dead, poisoned,
and everybody seems to have a motive, his trainer (Frank Jenks) and
manager (Roy Roberts) because he wanted to leave them for another employer
and his sparring partner because he had made a pass at his wife. But while
the Sheriff (Harry Hayden) does nothing much and still comes to all the
wrong conclusions, Jerry and his wife Pamela (Barbara Britton) soon figure
out the real killer is the cook (Christopher Dark), whose sister McKay
drove into suicide and now he was trying to steal his girl (Gloria Henry).
Of course, in the end justice prevails. Just about average
episode of Mr and Mrs North, which is, like many of the
lesser episodes of the series, carried by its leads Denning and Britton
rather than the actual story.
