Centuries ago, Hector Petrasanta has killed Eloim (Ángel Di Stefani),
leader of the satanic panther cult, but Eloim's followers have sworn
revenge ... Now: The Petrasanta-family is down to four members,
professor Rafael (Jorge Mondrágon), his son Ramon (Genaro Moreno),
Ramon's daughter Paquita (Elenita Saldivar), and the professor's niece,
female wrestler Loreta Venus (Ariadna Welter). The professor tells his
relatives about the family curse, but noone takes it to seriously - and
then the professor turns up dead, mauled by a feline animal ... like a
panther. Loreta Venus and her tag-team parnter Golden Rubi (Elizabeth
Campbell) are quick to hook up with the investigating inspector, Diaz
(Eric del Castillo), but he has the good sense to call in someone else to
help with the investigations as well, Angel, a masked and caped wrestler
who fights crime in his spare time and has an elaborate rime lab to this
extent. Angel is quick to suspect Ramon's fiancée Tongo (Yolanda
Montes) - and is right in doing so because she is a member of the panther
cult - but even he can't save Ramon from eventually being killed by her.
Witht he two last male members of the Petrasanta family gone, Satanasa
(María Douglas), leader of the panther cult, manages to bring Eloim back
to life - as some sort of ugly monster. Eloim then wants to fetch Paquita
herself, but for some reason, while she's sleeping she holds on to a magic
sword her grandpa has given her that drives Eloim away. Loreta Venus and
Golden Rubi are challenged by two mysterious masked wrestlers (one of whom
later turns out to be Tongo) for a showdown in the ring, where the
wrestlers suddenly turn into panther women (which means nothing other than
growing hair and nails on their hands) trying to kill Venus and Rubi.
Captain Diaz and Angel come to the rescue though, and somehow they get
their hands on Satanasa in the process, too. But they can't keep Paquita
from being kidnapped. Threatened with the magic sword, Satanasa gives
away her master's hideout, then kills herself upon realizing what she has
done. It all leads to a finale in a graveyard at the culmination of
which Eloim is staked with the magic sword and Paquita is saved of course. As
far as Mexican wrestling movies with supernatural subplots go, this one is
pretty entertaining. I mean, of course it's not an intellectual
masterpiece, and of course it was made on the cheap and is based on a
rather simplistic screenplay - but the story moves at a steady pace, there
is plenty of action and the unintentional humour is in all the right
places. To sum it up in just one word: Fun!
