A priest-turned-vampire-hunter tells two vampire tales: In the first
one, a vampire dressed up as Santa Claus has broken into a family home on
Christmas Eve, and by and by he takes out all the family members until he
is staked by a Christmas tree. Tale number two is about slacker Jacques
who falls in love with Cindy, but everytime he tries to go on a date with
her, his efforts are spoiled by a mysterious taxi cab, so much so that he
wants to have his revenge on the cab ... only to find out that the
cabdriver is really a vampire, and before you know it, the vampire has
kidnapped Cindy. But with the help of his best friend Max and a
mysterious stranger who constantly beams himself into and out of the
picture, Jacques manages to bring down the cabdriver and finally date
Cindy ... In the finale, the vampire-hunting priest turns out to be a
vampire. What might sound like fun in writing unfortunately is
not once brought to screen. What could have been a subtle horror comedy
with some nice ideas (a vampire dressed up as Santa Claus is surely
something new, and a vampire cabdriver isn't bad either) turns out to be a
broad attempt at genre parody that's neither particularly funny (least of
all when it tries to be) nor at all scary, seriously lacking in the
atmosphere department. An indifferent (and atrocious) synthie-pop
filmscore of course doesn't help either. And believe me, that the film was
shot on an ultra-low budget resulting in a bad soundmix and sloppy
stuntwork is the least of the film's problems. Better avoid this one!
