Paul (Baaj Adebule), unsuccessful inventor of the wind-powered cooker,
and his flatmate Ortega (Ebiye Victor) are continuously behind on rent, so
much so that they owe a full year to their landlord (Muritala Abulsalam
Bankole) - but when they have finally managed to scrape up enough money,
they find their landlord has (literally) just died. And since they figure
he might not have had any heirs, they blow their dough in a night of
alcohol, drugs and loose women ... to meet the landlords daughter
(Segilola Ogidan) the very next day, who gives them a 24 hour ultimatum to
pay up or be evicted. Now to come up with that kind of money isn't exactly
easy for anyone, least of all for Paul and Ortega, and whatever they try
seems to blow up in their faces, being gambling or trying themselves as
drugpushers. But things really go South when they break into an upper
class mansion which to Paul's shock belongs to the father of the girl (Meg
Otanwa) he loves, and then a trio of actuall criminals (Raymond Lorkohol,
Shima Gernah, Aj Lawrence) seem to have come up with the exact same idea
the exact same night, putting Paul and Ortega in the middle of a crossfire
... A very fresh and entertaining example of Nigerian genre
cinema that's somewhere caught in the crossroads of buddy flick, stoner
comedy, gangster and heist movie and probably a dozen of other things -
and elegantly comes out on top of things, thanks to a clever and funny
script that rates high on characterization, dialogue and situation comedy,
a dynamic yet not overpowering directorial effort, and a very likeable
ensemble cast, to make this one very enjoyable film indeed!
