MC
Grindah (Allan Mustafa) and DJ Beats (Hugo Chegwin) want to take their
pirate radio station Kurupt FM to the next level and start a website to
conquer the world, as they put it. Of course there's a certain snag to
their plan as they insist on keeping Kurupt on FM rather than going
internet radio, thus keeping their station's reach to a 0.2 mile radius.
They other snag is, they'd have to pay someone to build the website for
them as they have absolutely no experience - but they also have no money.
Now Beats could get a paid DJ-ing gig at a wedding, but Grindah forbids
him to do it as the wedding organizers only want a DJ and no MC. But when
Beats learns at home that his washing machine is broken and he'd need
money to get it fixed, he does the wedding anyhow behind Grindah's back,
making up a flimsy excuse for him. In the meantime, Grindah makes a deal
with Chabuddy (Asim Chaudhry), who claims to have experience putting
together a website - and why wouldn't he, he runs an internet café. And
all Chabuddy wants in return is to be DJ on Kurupt FM for a night. To
Grindah's shock, he plays strictly Bollywood songs on his big night,
causing Grindah and company to not transmit his show without him knowing.
Ultimately, Grindah catches Beats at the wedding though ... Good
fun, as this episode again trusts in its strength, to throw its characters
into situations where they find themselves in over their heads, only to
triggered by over-confidence come up with solutions that more often than
not lead to the not ideal outcome, to then be explained away with flimsy
excuses. And this is done in a way that's lots of fun for sure, also
because the main characters for all their fallabilities are actually
pretty loveable, or at least relatable.
