To boost the ratings of their ill fated TV-show "Mysterious Files" (& to not be
replaced by an Feng Shui master as the hosts), James & Minako
sponsor (& of course film) the exorcism of a young girl by a
Christian reverend. But sure enough, when you deal with spooky stuff, it
sooner or later strikes back, & since James can't get to terms with
his fading popularity, Minako just can't get over not being with James
anymore, & the reverend can't get over his wife's death, they seem
easy prey for the evil spirit who formerly possessed the young girl ...
Until James finds out what's really behind it all, the spirit of
a man he & Minako ran over & killed with their car some 2 years ago, &
he's not the forgiving type. Soon now, the spirit has possessed Minako
& it seems all is lost, but with the help of James & the
reverend (who loses his life in the process), good can once again
triumph over evil.
This synopsis might actually sound way better than the movie actually
is, a rather uninspired cheap little chiller, very obviously borrowing
from The Exorcist in the early possession-scenes, while the
finale is directed as if it was supposed to be done totally void of any
horror or suspense, thus just working on no level whatsoever. |
