Ruth (Alice Lowe) is 7 months pregnant - but she's still out and about,
working her job, picking up men at bars ... and killing people. You see,
Ruth has recently been widowed, the very day she learned she's pregnant
she got news that her husband has died in a bizarre climbing accident,
where his fellow climbers pretty much had to sacrifice him to get out of a
situation themselves (it's never properly explained) - and now Ruth thinks
her yet unborn baby speaks to her and wants her to kill all those involved
... but she better hurry before her water breaks! Prevenge
is, above all else, fun in a very dark sort of way, as the movie was never
written for shocks but for laughs, even if what's happening on-screen
might be totally wrong - and writer/director/star really pulls it off to
make us sympathize with her character (who she played when actually 7
months pregnant by the way) despite her being a homicidal psychopath, and
she puts enough inventiveness and wit into her murder scenes to make them
rather hilarious and spins an entertaining enough yarn between them to
keep the audience glued to their seats!
