On a faraway planet: Ovule (Sharon Lee Jones) is made queen by her
dying mother (Cheryl Janecky), even though her sister Curette (Dana
Fredsti) was the next in line. Thing is, Ovule is good, Curette is evil.
And since Curette wants the throne at all cost, she tries to kill Ovule -
but Ovule has herself teleported to present day earth, where she wins a
wet T-shirt contest (no joke) within 5 minutes of her arrival, then gets
picked up by the fired DJ of the club the contest was held at, Bob (Mark
Pacific). Good thing he has a motorbike, too, because only minutes after
her arrival, Curette arrives with two hechwomen (Lauri Warren, Isibella
Peralta), who set out to kill her. Somehow two not completely competent
cops (Tony Ricardi, Augie Blunt) get inadvertedly drawn into the story,
too, which eventually involves many chases by foot, bike and car,
shoot-outs, the obligatory love scene between Ovule and Bob, and of course
a finale in a warehouse complex, where Curette's girls are killed while
Ovule is allowed to beat the living shit out of her. Then she and Bob are
teleported back to her home planet. Princess Warrior is
pretty much your typical piece of 1980's low budget trash: Its science
fiction plot has only very little to do with science but does involve
light sabers, the sci-fi sets and effects are rather shoddy, even if the
film is vaguely reminiscent of Star Wars, it takes place
mostly on present-day earth (for budgetary reasons), the acting is wooden,
mostly, but at least there are lots of bare breasts to keep one
interested. Plus, the film at least doesn't take itself too seriously
(without being too moronic, either). Anyways, by all accounts, Princess
Warrior is not a good movie - but if you're into cheap trash and
1980's genre fare, you might still get a few chuckles out of it.
