Brittany Lee (Andi Morrow) is not a bad person per se - but living in a
small village in the Appalacchian mountains she only sees limited
perspectives for her future and has chosen to make some money on the side
as a drug dealer. But during the course of a day, her views on things
change: There's her supplier (Dara Tiller) who wants out to become a
teacher, there's this woman at church who has taken custody of her
granddaughter after her daughter has taken to drugs, and there's
Brittany's ex (Levi Krevinghaus) with whom she first started out using and
then selling, and whose life now is in shambles. And all of this makes
Brittany wonder if there isn't more to life than this ...
This is quite a compelling little film - basically because it
doesn't try too hard to hammer its message home and actually leaves much
of the thinking to the audience while telling a slice-of-life type story
populated by relateable characters in a laid back way, without ever
passing judgment, instead letting it flow naturally. And of course, a
strong cast to carry the thing helps a lot as well to make this a really
cool movie.
