200 years ago, 2 robbers (Richard Froelich, Christian van Caine) stole
a silver cross from Hanning (Andreas Rylander) and his pregnant wife
(Jessica Wahlström), even if they had to kill the couple to do so.
However, when making their getaway over lake Rana, they were killed by
some mysterious being, and the silver cross has since been lieing on the
lake's ground, until ... Now, someone finds the cross and brings it to
shore, which causes Hanning to return from the dead and kill people, no
matter if they had anything to do with the cross or not. Eventually, the
investigating cop (Petter Gahm) figures out what all of the killings have
to do with the silver cross (which by the way changes hands with great
regularity), gets hold of the thing and throws it back into the lake, and
Hanning disintegrates. But since this isn't all that much of a story, the
cop is also given an estranged son (Jonathan Sjögren), who is
camping in the neighbourhood during his dad's killer hunt, gets chased by
Hanning for a bit, and in the
end reconciles with his father - who has after all saved his life. Despite
a little mythological background, this is nothing but another slasher
flick full of uninteresting characters, predictable plottwists,
by-the-number suspense sequences and the like. The only thing that's
missing is any spark of originality - which is a pretty bad thing.
