At a summer camp during a lunar eclipse, four tween scouts fulfilling
the expected clichés - the bland hero, his love interest, the fat guy and
the one with the glasses - decide to
explore some caves, and somehow make it to some parellel dimension where
they stumble upon an absent-minded, mad and greedy scientist and are
chased by a giant snake and flying toads, and the fat scout is even bitten
and seems to start turning into some reptile himself ... but after much
running about the mad scientist saves the day by closing the gate to the
other dimension again, even if that almost costs his life, fatso is turned
back to normal, and the kids make it back to their camp. A
totally pointless film. Sure, some of the CGI effects in this one are
pretty decent, but other than that, there is nothing that makes it
worthwhile, no build-up of tension, no interesting characters, no cool
setpieces, no clever use of the cavernous underground locations, no
nothing. To put it short, a waste of time.
