I
proudly will
hold in record saying
there is not and never will be a president I have hated more than George
W. Bush. In his eight years
of office there is absolutely nothing and I mean not one single thing I
can recall that he did, that I can say I was in favor of. I am against the
use of water boarding suspected terrorists, I am against
Gitmo, I am against The Patriot Act, I am against warrantless
eavesdropping on US citizens, I am against the
requiring of US citizens to need
passports to go to Canada and Mexico, I am against the no-fly list,
I am against giving added spying powers and powers to legally
harass/question US Citizens being given to customs agents, airline
security or law enforcement. I feel George Bush and his entire staff
should be arrested, tried for war crimes and placed in
prison or executed like Saadam Hussein!
With this in mind, I thought I
could loudly applaud the Cloud Ten Pictures release of Shadow
Government.
After viewing it, I can only partially do so. I can also say I wish they
would stay away from releasing projects of this sort and stick to those
Christians versus Antichrist films I love with Gordon Currie, Nick Mancuso
and the like.
By the time this documentary ends,
Christians will be hiding under their beds in fear of the Government
ushering in the Antichrist, conspiracy buffs will be shouting out “I
told you so” and other more sound of mind people will be laughing at the
way the documentary merges from something thought-provoking to ridiculous.
The first half of this documentary had my full support, as it
called out the multitude of ways the government spies on its people. I
again deplore having personal data collected, hate The Patriot Act and the
intrusions passed upon the American people and the erosion of our
Constitutional rights in America (though as the documentary pointed out,
this spying is happening everywhere and not limited to the
USA).
Had the documentary quit halfway into it,
they would have had a glowing review. They even pointed out
one of my own main rebuttals. I hate when people say “If you have
nothing to hide, why would you mind being spied on?” The very fact that I
have nothing to hide IS why I fucking
mind being spied upon. What I do and what I
think are none of the government’s fucking
business. This passive and even supportive attitude of too many
people in the USA towards the post-9-11-world
is what created this mess today. I want to go back to a 9-10-world
where you had some sanity left in his country.
So far so good. Call attention to how the government, advertisers
and who knows who else are collecting data on you, spying on you and poking
their noses up your very assholes with or without your knowing it.
Great stuff and infuriating material.
Then the production in Cloud Ten form, had to go and get Christlike
on me!
The final half of the documentary shifts from people in general and
starts to twist the facts to serve the Christian agenda. Why is the
government collecting all this data? Wait for it… wait for it…
So Christians can be persecuted when the New World Order or
whatever the One World Government and the Antichrist bring when Satan
takes over…
I think Hugo Chavez had it closer to the truth a few years back
when he refered to George Bush as the devil! And I am NOT particularly a Chavez fan either.
Sooner or later, according to
this documentary, Homeland Security is going to start seeing all
evangelical Christians as potential terrorists who might be out to bomb abortion clinics and commit hate crimes. Christians need to live in
fear of being brought in fro questioning because of the church they are
affiliated with, because they belong to Right to Life organizations and
speak out against sin.
Some of my militant atheist friends will roar with laughter through
this second section and turn it into a
screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Their reaction will be… Jesus H. Christ!
The thing I found most ironic would be how Christians I know are
rallying around this DVD. This is ironic considering many of these same
peoples purported and still support George Bush as one of the best things
that could have happened to this country and claim him to be their brother in
Christ. They forget it was the Bush regime that pushed
through much of the spying and policy protested against in this film.
So which is it, Christians? You cannot have it both ways.
They do have a neat cover design
on the box. There’s a
gigantic eye staring at you, with the caption “Shadow Government… how
the global elite plan to destroy democracy and your freedom.”
The DVD features Grant Jeffrey, the author of the book, The Next
World War, plus input from similar authors, lecturers and philosophers.
It started off great gins. Then it had to go Christlike on me.
Yeeeettttcccchhhhhhhhh! Once
again ironic, considering the right-wing Christian Republicans were the
ones who helped put George Bush in power and keep him there for 8
disastrous years, while bringing about many of the changes complained
about in the DVD. These very same people would claim President Obama and
the Democrats are of the devil while embracing the right-wing that
blatantly supports the very government spying opposed in this DVD.
I roll my eyes at the second half of this
DVD. You might like it, you might be scared by it, you might laugh
at it.
See for yourself!
