It all takes place on a strip of highwasy in the middle of nowhere,
USA: Two hitmen on the run find out they're on the run from something more
sinister than the law - seriously, they might be on the run from the souls
of the people they killed that have returned as lethal aliens. An all-girl
rock band hitches a ride - to get more than they bargained for. A guy
trying to do right after he has hit a woman with his car is at the
complete mercy of a psycho 911 operator. A rather demented gunman tries to
track down his sister in the least likely way. And finally a home invasion
takes us back to story #1. Nice anthology of the Twilight
Zone variety, where the storytelling (including twist endings
and the like) is more important than the spectacle ... and it works, too,
as this movie or rather its segments are well-written and well-conceived,
the directors of respective segments apparently know how to get the most
out of their desert location, and the whole thing's really
well-acted. Pretty cool, actually!
