With nothing but her trusted flask of whiskey to accompany her, Sam
(Eerie) watches over the office, when she receives what at first seems
like a perverted phonecall. Suffice to say, she's not impressed. But after
the third time the perv recalled, she hears his huffing and puffing
outside the office door, and when she opens, she comes face to face with a
monster (Armando Lynch). Good thing then that she knows a little magic
herself ... but will it suffice? Story-wise Swing Shift
might not have all that much to offer, even for a 5 minute short - but in
this case it's the style that makes up for it, as the movie just looks and
feels like a genuine 40s noir, with black and white cinematography,
lighting, costumes, sets and props, and even dialogues all falling in
line, and even the actors look as if from yesteryear. And to see this
simplistic monster movie evolve in front of this backdrop is simply put
amazing fun. Definitely worth a look!
