A one-horse town in the Old West: Nothing much is going on there, ever,
and the locals seem to like it that way - until a stranger (Tim Emery)
arrives with a weird metal box. Of course, the locals want to drive him
out right away, but turns out he has a legal document to come to town and
carry that box (whatever it is), so reluctantly he's welcome into town.
And once he puts up the box and turns it on ... life gets better, actually
(represented by the film going from black and white to colour), and some
even like it (a lot) ... but quite a few of the townsfolks just don't like
change, even if it's for the better ... Disguised as a
sci-fi-western, The Switch actually works best as a satire -
exactly because its humour isn't hahah-funny but gives the audience
something to think about - but that's not at all to say the movie's a slow
burn, let alone boring, there's plenty of action, carried by some fine
acting too, and there are some hidden jokes as well ... so pretty much
there's no way you won't be entertained!
