Basically, Teaserama has little cinematic value as such but is
more of an account of an actual burlesque show, with sexy women dancing
around teasingly and scantily clad (there is no actual nudity though, and
the only girl who reveals her breasts turns out to be a man in doing so -
which was her/his performance's punchline), interrupted by comedians
telling your typical old and raunchy jokes. And as erotic and
even "forbidden" as it might have seemed in the 1950's, Teaserama
seems supertame from today's point of view, but as a document for 1950's
style eroticism it's certainly interesting to watch, and most of the girls
are actually quite pretty, too - but that said, the film becomes also
tiring after a while, and of all the girls, only Bettie Page - who also
appears between performances of other girls as a sort of ring girl -
manages to bring any real enthusiasm to her performances, however limited
they are, actually.
