John is a teacher who cracked under the pressure of the job, the
violence at schools and other factors. Having tried everything else, he
goes to Dr Zempf's mental hospital for an experimental treatment that also
uses hallucinogenic drugs. And at this institution, in sessions with
psychiatrist Miss Ann, his personality splits up into multiple different
characters, who weirdly enough all bring different facts about John's life
up that he himself might not even have revealed. And yet, a multiple
personality disorder can't really be called a "cure", not can
it? The film really starts alright, with a patchwork of news
reports thrown together in a very imaginative way - unfortunately, it uses
this approach throughout all the movie, also with the scenes originally
shot for the film, and after a while one can't but suspect that that is
basically done to mask the rather poor production values and lazy
camerawork of the film. And likewise, some found footage inserts later on
seem to be there just to pad out the film's running time, while the story
the film tells hardly justifies feature length and lacks a proper
narrative arc. That said, not a total trainwreck, at least the mosaic
approach to filmmaking is interesting at first, but no winner for sure.
