It's Ethan Eng and Justin Morrice's senior year in high school, and to
commemorate that they decide to make a yearbook style movie - but not your
typical piece just celebrating the good times but one that also features
pieces that people not always get to see. The outcome is a film that
celebrates their friendship and sees them pulling many pranks, have the
typical adventures of high school students, good parties, bad parties,
people tripping out and puking, but also a rather unpleasant fall-out of
the two of them with a reconciliation only weeks later. But their
friendship seems to outlive high school, and if they got their will they'd
go on like this forever - that is until tragedy strikes ... If
above synopsis makes you think this is just another coming-of-age movie, I
can't blame you and yet you're mistaken, as of course in terms of plot the
film doesn't tell much that hasn't been told before, but in terms of
approach the movie's rather unique, as instead of relying on straight
storytelling, the film's made up of documentary-style snippets of high
school life, that more often than not seem to be put together
associatively rather than out of narrative necessity, giving the film a
refreshingly experimental feel that challenges the audience to piece the
story together themselves, and the result's rather fascinating, actually.
