A new invention to deforest the Amazon rain forest more efficiently
(?), the Crablogger - a giant machine that destroys pretty much everything
in its way - is to be tested today, but unfortunately, its two controllers
pass out from food poisoning while on the job, and now the Crablogger
becomes an unsoppable Behemoth that heads for a nearby dam which is doomed
should the Crablogger ever reach it. Luckily the guys from International
Rescue are on the job, and they save the two controllers comparatively
quickly - but that's the easy part, the hard part is to stop the thing,
and the only man who knows how is fast asleep halfway round the world, in
Great Britain ... so it's up to International Rescue agent Lady Penelope
to make a visit to the man and force the combination to stop the
Crablogger out of him at gunpoint. So ok, now the thing is stopped, not
far from the dam, but it's standing on a ledge that's about to give way to
the Crablogger's weight, and the machine's crash would cause an explosion
of massive scale - so in a race against time the guys from International
Rescue have to defuel the thing ... and make it just in time. The
Crablogger still crashes of course, but it causes merely a minor explosion
... Despite featuring suspense setpiece after suspense
setpiece, this episode somehow fails to truly take off, in part probably
because the setpieces are not that well conceived, in part because the
puppets are just not able to really carry the necessary emotions to make
the human drama behind the suspense work. But at least the Crablogger is
beautiful to look at, and its final destruction is a sight to be seen.
