On his journey back from a mission in Tokyo, Scott Tracy's
rocketshiplike Thunderbird 1 is shot down by a trio of unknown fighter
jets over the Egyptian Sahara - but luckily for him, he is found by two
adventureers/archeologists in search for a lost pyramid just in time so
they can call International Rescue to pick Scott up. Days later, the two
adventurers have an accident in the middle of the Sahara and call
International Rescue for help - but while waiting, they do find the lost
pyramid and enter it. Scott, who comes to pick the two men up, follows
them into the pyramid, where they are quickly taken prisoner by the
locals, obviously a lost but technically highly advanced Egyptian tribe
which also shot down Scott's Thunderbird at the beginning of the story. It
already seems that our heroes are to be executed when they manage to free
themselves and create enough havoc to eventually blow up the whole pyramid
- and of course everyone in it. Only our heroic trio survives ... The
story of this episode is rather childish - and by no means politically
correct from today's point of view. However, judged from pure
storytelling, this one isn't half bad, the sets are enjoyably colourful
and the special effects are once again first rate ... and one just can't
not like a show at the climax of which a whole pyramid is blown up ...
