Nick (Ruaridh Mollica) and Charlie (Joshua Griffin) have partied just a
little too hard the other night, so Nick takes Charlie home for sex - and
is shocked that he hasn't left the next morning, shocked not because of
what happened the previous night - after all, they've been a couple for a
while now - but shocked that his homophobic parents (Neshla Caplan, Kevin
O'Loughlin), whom he has never told he's gay, might find it out that way.
But there's more to it than that, as while he's at Nick's, Charlie hears
Nick's parents fighting, meets Nick's traumatized little brother (Oliver
Wright), and by the by finds out why Nick has never invited him over ...
A very powerful social drama that manages to pack very much
into its mere 16 minutes of running time and manages to tell a very
rounded out story instead of trying to hit one over the head with a
sledgehammer with a message, as social dramas often do. Besides that, a
directorial approach going for realism, warts and all, and believable
and relatable performances make this a good watch, depressing perhaps, but
rewarding all the same.
