Stu (Stuart Erwin) has just saved a little money he wants to spend on a
new car while his wife June (June Collyer) wants to redecorate. It's
decided on the new car though ... Then in an at first seperate incident, a
delivery man brings a Victorian loveseat (one of those where two chairs
facing opposite directions are fixed to0 each other) meant for the
neighbour to Stu and June's house, and June accepts it so the neighbour
can pick it up later. When Stu sees the loveseat though, he thinks June
has gone over his head and gone ahead with redecorating without his
consent - and thus in a fit of rage he sells it to a used furniture
dealer. When he learns the truth about the loveseat though, he has to buy
it back at an auction, bidding against a young man paid by the crooked
dealer. Finally Stu returns with the loveseat and has it handed over to
the neighbour - who gives the ugly thing to June and Stu as a present.
Then Stu is introduced to his daughter Joyce's (Ann E.Todd) new girlfriend
- the very young man who has bid against him at the auction. Finally
though, the loveseat proves to uncomfortable for Joyce and her boyfriend
making out that Stu decides to keep it. Mildly funny at best.
