This time around, Tokyo is threatened by a giant monster that has the
ability to blind people, and that seemingly cannot be defeated but only
gets the more violent the more it's attacked - which is why Muramatsu
(Akiji Kobayashi), captain of the Science Patrol, orders his men to under
no circumstances shoot at the monster. However, when Patrolman Arashi
(Sandayuu Dokumamushi) tries to save a few schoolchildren from certain
death, he simply has to fire a few shots in self-defense - and thus is
removed from his position within the patrol. This of course frees him from
all the Patrol's orders, and when biant robot Ultraman (Bin Furuya) sees
himself forced to fight the monster, Arashi steals one of Science Patrol's
fighter jets to help him defeat it. The story of this episode
is not terribly convincing and is as far fetched as it is clichéd, but
the monster looks cool in a goofy kind of way, and some of the destruction
involved in the story is really cool.
